Guests of Grange Land Rover Swindon were treated to a day out at the Americas cup sponsored by Land Rover. While the conditions were wet and Cold on Sunday calling for the racing to be cancelled Land Rovers warming hospitality made up for it as the guests had a fantastic day.
Team manager Jono Macbeth said the following: “We were hoping for another day like Saturday, but that wasn't to be, conditions out there were past top end, and not suitable for sailing”. This was disappointing following such good conditions on the Saturday.
Despite conditions Land Rover still came out successful with team Ben Ainsley Racing (BAR) sponsored by Land Rover were victorious.
Ben Ainsley commented the following: “Skipper and Team Principal; Ben Ainslie: “I'm really proud of what the team has achieved this weekend, not just on the water but with our team here at the facility in Portsmouth. To win the first Louis Vuitton America's Cup World Series of 2015 in front of our home crowd is massive for our team, and sets us up for a very exciting future.”
This was a fantastic start for the season and great success for Land Rover to sponsor the winning team.
Our guests were able to witness some of the early morning events unfold visiting the Land Rover boat and then were up close to the action as the boats came out of the water as the racing was cancelled. They were then taken to enjoy a days hospitality with Land Rover.
The season has started on a high for Land Rover and they are hopeful for the success to continue.
