His nickname is “Thomas the Tank” due to his strength. The younger brother of former All Black Scott Waldrom, he was overlooked by the All Blacks selectors whilst playing in New Zealand, and after making his move to England, had aspirations of eventually playing for the England national team, which he has now done 5 times.
This season Tom Waldrom is the Premiership’s leading try scorer with 16 try’s, matching Neil Back’s record for a forward, and he has also (following Saturday’s final Premiership game of the season) picked up the Exeter Chiefs supporters “Player of the Year” award.
