A convoy of Aston Martins with both our Grange Guests & top-performing managers left Grange on a warm June morning for the annual trip to France to enjoy Le Mans 24 hour endurance race.
After a leisurely drive, stopping for lunch at the Michelin Star Auberge Monior Des Saules in Rouen, the party arrived at the Grange Châteaux to be greeted by the Grange hosts, along with a champagne & canape reception. After a quick change, all guests were transported to the track to watch the night practice session, which saw #95 qualify on pole, after qualifying guests returned to the Châteaux for a midnight BBQ.
Day 2 Guests were joined for breakfast at the Châteaux by Grange Ambassadors Darren Turner & Alex Lynn, who gave our guests an insight into the 24 hr Le Mans Race. After breakfast was the Grange ‘24 Minutes’ which is a hotly contested competition on a local Karting track. Lunch was arranged for the guests at the Michelin Star restaurant Auberge Des Matfeux in Le Mans followed by some leisurely time in Le Mans before going back to the Châteaux for an evening BBQ.
Day 3 & 4 the main event. Helicopters transferred the guests from the Grange Châteaux to the race track at La Sarthe where hospitality was transferred to our hosts for the weekend, Aston Martin Racing. Guests were able to relax & watch the race & dance the night away in Aston Martin VIP hospitality.
During the race guests were able to do Garage Tours to see the teams in actions, Martin Brundle kindly gave our Grange guests an insight into the race in the hospitality area.
The race for Aston Martin wasn’t the race they wanted with car #95 had to retire after a crash involving Marco Sorensen, Marco was taken to the local hospital to be checked over, he is now recovering at home. Car #97 also had an incident on the track, which put them out of contention in the race. Sunday morning on our return to the hospitality area, Darren Turner gave our guests a debrief of the events from the evening. As you can imagine both teams were bitterly disappointed. They will be back next year bigger & better!
Sunday evening guests were treated to a farewell BBQ at the Grange Chateau, before their departure on Monday morning.
