The first spy shots of the 2017 Jaguar XF S Sportbrake have emerged online. Due next year, the XF S will sit above the regular XF Sportbrake which has also been confirmed for release in 2017. The S model will feature the same 3.0 litre V6 engines found in the saloon, one being a 375bhp petrol unit and the other a diesel unit capable of over 50mpg, both twinned with an 8-speed automatic gearbox. The main possible change for the estate XF S, will be adjustable rear suspension, to cater for extra weight at the rear of the car. Compared to the saloon version, the XF will benefit from increased rear head room and boot space, but the additional weight will probably slightly affect the 0-62mph time of 5.3 set by the petrol saloon model.

The regular XF Sportbrake will stem from the same aluminium frame of the XF saloon, and feature the 2.0 litre diesel engine as a base unit. A 2.0 litre petrol engine will also be available, along with a mix of the all-new ingenium engines and the 2.0 litre V6 units that will be featured in the XF S Sportbrake. This means power output will range from 161bhp to 375bhp. The Rear wheel drive estate will be available with a 6-speed manual gearbox for the lower models or an 8-speed automatic box as standard on most versions. The 4-wheel drive system available on the saloon car, looks set to become an option of the Sportbrake.
The XF Sportbrake is set to cost slightly more than the £32,300 saloon with the XF S Sportbrake set to start at over the £49,995 saloon starting price.
